Historique du projet Karibiodiv

The Karibiodiv.net project is an initiative that was launched in June 2020. With a view to meeting the new sustainable development goals to achieve the United Nations’ “2030 Agenda”, ACP Environnement, has become co-leader of the project with the Maison Verte d’Haïti association.

ACP Environment, whose main objective is to promote the launch and success of projects linked to sustainable development and environmental protection, then decided to carry out this pilot project of education for the preservation of the Caribbean natural heritage.

Also, the main objective of the Karibiodiv project is to popularize, through digital media, knowledge of Caribbean biodiversity and landscapes among young people. This project is aimed at young people aged 12-18 from the Eastern Caribbean islands and Haiti.

  • Karibiodiv.net aims to be an innovative educational and awareness-raising tool on the richness and fragility of Caribbean biodiversity. It also serves as a means of communicating the need to preserve it, given the climate vulnerability of Caribbean island areas.
  • Karibiodiv.net is the preferred medium for disseminating information relating to the following themes: biodiversity, environment, climate vulnerability in the Caribbean island region, etc. It is also, more broadly, a promotional and information tool encouraging ecotourism in these territories among the general public.
  • Finally, also serving the objective of strengthening inter-island synergy, the teams mobilized on the project are based in Guadeloupe, Haiti and Dominica and are all working to establish the collection of information.
