Point Abacou was declared a marine protected area by the Order of August 26th, 2013. It is part of the marine and coastal complex called Protected Areas of Managed Natural Resources of Port-Salut/Aquin. With its 25 km², this corner of paradise is home to several beaches adorned with palm trees, including Ozanana, ranked among the most beautiful in the Caribbean.
Point Abacou represents a treasure in relation to the number of species it contains. It is home to a large number of species of fish, spiny lobsters, snails, shrimps and clawed lobsters. Its abundance in marine resources makes it a source of larvae for endangered species throughout the western Caribbean.
