Endemic to the Antilles, it is more common in Guadeloupe than in the other Caribbean islands where it is recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a medium-sized tree with a trunk with thin, cracked, blackish bark. It has alternate, stiff, dark green leaves on the upper side, similar to those of the oleander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its inconspicuous flowers generally appear between December and January.
