The Pine Forest National Natural Park or \u201cParc Naturel National de la For\u00eat des Pins\u201d (PNN-FP) with an area of 18,780 ha, is divided into 2 parks. The first zone has 4,780.57 ha and the second 14,000 ha. This place has the reputation of being a key area for biodiversity in Haiti. Located between 1,500 and 2,674 meters above sea level, in the Selle massif, the pine forest is one of the last native forests in the country. Its forests are distributed in 6 communes, where the Verettes occupy the largest part, followed by Croix-des-Bouquets, Bellanse, Ganthier, Thiotte and Grand Gosier. The pine forest contains within it a vast tropical coniferous forest and supplies many cities in the country with its diversity of plant species.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biodiversity<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A true natural water reserve, it is the source of many drinking water points and rivers that supply some of the most important cities in the country. It offers an essential ecosystem for soil preservation and water regulation. With 5,000 species of plants, it is the second richest region in biodiversity in the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
